When The Community Benefits, We All Benefit
At AMERU we strongly believe that what we do, has to benefit the communities we serve and interact with. As a business, we have a valuable platform available to us and we see it as our responsibility to make positive contributions to our society and the world at large.
Our actions as a business need to align with our mission to empower, support and connect the people around us because if the community benefits, we all benefit.
Shape The World
While we support many different causes and projects, we have always felt the need to focus on the engagement and empowerment of the young members of our society because we believe putting young people at the center of change, is our best chance for a better tomorrow. Inspired, self-confident and independent young people have the power to shape the world and make a change!
But not everyone is fortunate to have received the required mentoring and encouragement in life. Poverty, lack of education, peer pressure or family conflicts are some of the many factors that can often leave young people without perspective, direction and motivation.
Let’s Work Together
AMERU Coffee has partnered up with Cumberland City Council and Great Lakes Agency for Peace and Development International (GLAPD) to provide free barista training to young people aged 18 – 25 years old, who are looking to turn their life around but struggle to find their path or are unsure where to start.
Our 4-week program aims to give young people, the skills, confidence and opportunity to find a suitable job in the hospitality or retail industry.
Participants will acquire barista skills, customer service training and learn how to operate a cash register.
ADDRESS: Auburn Centre for Community, 44A Macquarie Road, Auburn NSW 2144
DURATION & DATE: 4 Weeks / Every Monday
TIME: 10AM, 12PM or 2PM
Each participant will attend a 2-hour training session every Monday for 4 weeks. Each session trains 2 people at a time.
